Jungle Fruit – RSO Edible Review – Cannabist [8/10]
JUNGLE FRUIT RSO [8/10] – CANNABIST – Hybrid, 69% THC 0.23% CBD
What is RSO (Rick Steve Oil): The “dablicator” is a device that measures and delivers small amounts of concentrated cannabis oil like RSO or Rick Steve Oil. RSO is also seen in gummy form and contains a much higher THC content compared to other products. The benefit of RSO is the full spectrum of terpenes within the strain. RSO, in my experience, provides a more complete experience that can be therapeutic for sleep, stress relief, muscle aches and pains, and so on.
The taste from an RSO dablicator is an intensely herbal flavor. Picture if you could dissolve a small bud in your mouth – it’s also very sticky and will linger a while. RSO won’t mix in water and it’s not recommended to smoke or vape it. Get creative or take it straight, but starting small and working up is important. A drop of RSO the size of a grain of rice is the recommended dose. The dablicator is a dispenser for RSO like a fancy syringe. It’s easy to use, just twist the dablicator and every time it clicks the small plunger will extend and lines will show you approximately how much RSO will come out.
Review: Jungle fruit is considered a hybrid, and an almost perfect 50/50 indica-sativa hybrid. I figured this would be a great strain to try in an RSO product and it was. It is very different than edibles, especially distillate edibles. The immediate effects of this Jungle Fruit RSO after a small rice-sized drop were slightly sedating and calming but it did not come on too intensely or become disorienting like when some edibles hit. RSO has a much higher amount of THC but I feel it is balanced out with the terpenes and other cannabinoids in the oil. (taking advantage of “the Entourage effect”). RSO is going to last much longer and I feel it’s a great product to take at night – it does help me with sleep and relaxes the mind and body.
A fair rating of this strain would be better reviewed by vaping or smoking the Jungle Fruit buds. But if you’re interested in trying RSO in the dablicator device, just proceed with careful curiosity and know this is truly more of a medicine than a recreational product. According to sources, RSO was also used in treating cancer, chronic pain, and sleep disorders. Of course, there are a variety of factors to consider including tolerance to THC and edible products in general, and if you also choose to smoke or vape on top of using an RSO product.
Overall, just in terms of FL MMJ and experiences from different dispensaries in central FL, I would give this product a preliminary 8/10 and return to edit after trying some other RSO in comparison. Go get some RSO!
